The roller takes the weight of the machine and guides the track link as it runs. It turns on a shaft with a floating face seal and a grease fill, which is why the whole unit is replaced rather than rebuilt on site: once the seal goes, dirt and water are already inside.

**How to identify the correct roller**

The label is the reliable identifier — casting marks change between production batches, so go by the MCode. If the old label is gone, measure the roller diameter and the flange spacing, and send us a photo of the roller in place with the machine model or VIN; we check it against the SANY parts list before you pay.

**How these fail**

1. **Seal leak.** A wet black ring around the flange, or oil on the track frame under the roller. Once the seal leaks the bearing runs dry and the roller is on borrowed time.
2. **Flat spots and stepped wear.** The running surface wears unevenly, the track starts to rumble and the machine vibrates when travelling.
3. **Seized roller.** A roller that no longer turns is dragged along the chain and wears a flat in one place within a few hundred hours.
4. **Track sag that keeps coming back.** Worn rollers let the chain drop, so tensioning holds for a shift and then the slack returns.
5. **Uneven wear left to right.** The machine pulls to one side and the shoes wear on one edge.

**Fitting notes**

1. Release the track tension before you touch the roller bolts — never work under a tensioned chain.
2. Support the track frame, then remove the roller. Keep the bolts; check the threads and the bolt holes in the frame before refitting.
3. Replace rollers in pairs on the same side — one new roller next to a worn one loads the new seal unevenly.
4. Clean the mounting face; grit under the flange gives a false torque reading and a skewed roller.
5. Torque to the figure in the SANY service manual for your model, then re-tension the track and check again after the first shift.
